Broadcasting for a lease
Hi All.I have been having a small annoyance on my wife's and my own PC.I have only had this since switching to 13.1 64bit and also 13.1 32 bit.As slack boots it come to the part where DHCP kicks in and normally it would detect the router and continue to boot (and have a network connection). Now sometimes its hangs saying "broadcasting for a lease".It continues to boot but has no network connection. At this point i reboot and hope that it works (which it usually does). I thought that maybe the router was at fault and tried a few live CDs which all worked without error. Now this happens on two different machines with different makes of network card.Does anyone else have the same problem?Any idea how to fix it?All help would be appreciated.I'm scratching my head over this one.Feel free to comment back if you require more details.

Hi Johnny,
Sorry I don't know the solution. Still using Slackware 13.0 but I really hope someone will help you very soon.

I too, am having this same problem. I just installed Slackware 13.1 and can't get my to my router or the net. I have tried everything to have no luck. I hope I don't have to fall back to 13.0 =( . So far with 13.0 and 13.1 I have had nothing but headaches with wired and wireless on Slackware....
Re: Broadcasting for a lease
This now seems to be fixed in 13.37.Although the "broadcasting for a lease" still comes up and appears to fail.I found that just be waiting a couple of minutes it finally connects to the Internet.
