Old Slackware Versions
I know many are still using Slackware 12.0, 11.0 or older versions. If this is your case, I'd like you to tell us why. Very satisfied with it ? Maybe you deeply know it and don't want to change for this reason ? Or installing a new version would require much work which you don't want to do ? What else... You don't want to take the risk of making an upgrade ?
It seems to me that if you're using an old version, you have to build from source much. Right ? I mean it must not be easy to find binary packages for your distro when the programs you want to install are much "younger" than your system...
I also think that when Slackware is used as a server, it's frequent to see old versions working today.
Whatever your reasons are, please describe the good and bad sides of using your old Slackware.
Thanks,
